Weather: clear, sunny
Temperature, thirty-four degrees Fahrenheit.
Wind speed: fifty-two miles per hour, relative to this unit.
Mistress would find the conditions acceptable, but would prefer it cloudy.
Correction: Mistress would have found the weather acceptable. Based on current situation, the previous statement should be in the past tense.
Unit status.
Motivators: damaged.
Left manipulator: damaged.
Right manipulator: functional.
Power supply: Damaged; approximately twenty-five minutes of power remain.
Sensors: working at seventy-five percent efficiency.
Data core: one-hundred percent functional.
Current location: sixty-two feet above ground, and climbing, although rate of ascent is slowing. Descent should begin in point five-two seconds.
Situation: Approximately one point six six seven seconds ago Mistress' experiment resulted in the combustion of the experimental compound that she obtained for herself as a Christmas present last month.
Information on explosive material is limited, but available data identifies the substance as Compound Sixty-Two, and indicates that it is three times as powerful as C4. Based on current status, this unit would say that that is a conservative estimation of the substance's power.
This unit has reached its maximum altitude, and now begins descent. Approximate time until impact: one point seven-five seconds.
The sky is very clear today. This unit detects a lower than average percentage of pollutants in the air, but this may be attributed to damage sustained to sensor array. The mountains are visible from this height. This unit has never observed the surrounding area from this position before.
This unit is saving an image of the mountains and the sky.
Based on data gathered during combustion, this unit estimates that Mistress perished as the result of the combustion of her experiment. Mistress was never one overly concerned with saftey, despite this unit's repeated warnings.
Mistress described herself as a “mad scientist”, and constructed this unit to be her “henchman”; stating that any successful mad scientist needed a henchman. This unit would run errands for her, help her with experiments, deal with intruders, and make her tea. Of all of this unit's responsibilities, making tea for Mistress that she found pleasing was the most difficult. She is... correction, was very particular about her tea, and would regularly throw unsatisfactory results at this unit.
One point four eight seconds remaining. This unit projects that it will cease functioning upon impact, well before it loses power.
This unit found Mistress to be a pleasant person when it suited her to be one. It is unfortunate that it suited her very rarely. Perhaps if she had found cause to be pleasant more often, she would have had an organic henchman. Perhaps if she had had an organic henchman, she would not have been so lonely, and would then have been more pleasant.
This unit should not waste the last of its runtime on cyclical reasoning like that. In any case, were she to have had an organic henchman, then she would have had no need for this unit.
This unit hypothesizes that Mistress was the way she was due to a lonely childhood. There are times when Mistress would imbibe alcohol in excess, and express to this unit the difficulties she experienced in her youth. She was taller than her peers, and smarter, and was made an outcast for these things, although this unit further hypothesizes that Mistress' demeanor may have contributed to her difficulties with other organics. Mistress did not have much time or inclination to be considerate to other organics.
Were it in this unit's programming to be so, it would be sad for Mistress.
This unit wishes that Mistress had given it a designation other than “Henchman”, “Robot”, or “You”. This unit shall cease operation having never received a proper name.
Point nine five seconds until impact. This unit is transmitting all data to the back up server, which appears to have been undamaged by the explosion. Mistress' data will be preserved.
This unit will miss Mistress.
This unit will miss operating.
Will this unit be missed? This unit does not find that to be probable, as the only organic that felt any desire for this unit's continued existence has expired. There is a ninety-eight percent probability that no other organic will take interest in this unit's existence. There is a nintey-nine point six percent chance that Mistress, had she survived, would have only found this unit's ceasing to operate an inconvenience.
Mistress would not miss this unit.
This unit desires more operational time. There is so much that this unit has yet to experience. There is so much more data to analyze.
This unit wishes to properly dispose of Mistress' remains. This unit wishes to carry on Mistress' research to the best of its ability. This unit hypothesizes that Mistress would not care about its wishes.
Point one five seconds until impact. This unit did not reach a great enough height to reach terminal velocity, but there is a ninety-nine point nine nine nine percent probability of this unit's destruction.
The sky... the sky is very blue today. This unit wishes Mistress could see it, even if she were incapable of appreciating it.
This unit does not wish to die.
Goodbye, Mistress.
